“In September of 2007 my then fiancé and I took a pre-martial course called "With this Ring". We had recently gotten engaged and were on our way to planning our wedding. We had gone though a discipleship program together the previous three years and I thought we had ourselves together. I was prideful to think that we knew all we needed to know. To be honest, we signed up for the class because it was the only way to be married at our church.

We got so much more out of that course then we ever thought we would. Our leaders, Kunle & Louise Fadina were very real with our group. They were open about their own lives and lead by example. They lead our group as we discussed real issues including: finances, family rearing, talking about our past, sex, and building goals for our marriage.

I was both ministered to and challenged in this course. I was surprised by what came out of me as well as my fiancé. We were married 3 months after the class ended. To this day we reference things we learned from Kunle & Louise. Out of the 5 couples, ourselves included, 4 have since gotten married.

“Taking "With this Ring" with Louise and Kunle is what inspired us to get married. Before taking this class, we knew we wanted to be married but not knowing how to deal with personal past issues is what was stopping us because we did not want to enter into a commitment with each other and God and then destroy it by divorcing. Going to this class taught us how to love each other with all our faults and how to overcome adversities that were facing us and that we would eventually face when we joined as one. I think that Kunle and Louise were the best facilitators that we could have had because they helped show us the kind of  people we would become when we joined as one. The way they taught us by being so open and personal about their own lives was just awesome. They embody a love that we would like to achieve in our relationship”.

“For me, the Marriage class opened my eyes to how to have a successful godly marriage. It opened my eyes to the incorrect examples that I learned, throughout my life, of how marriage should not operate. So many things that I have learned that I feel like a newborn experiencing life for the first time. I have a better understanding of my role as a wife. I understand that success does not happen overnight, but I appreciate the beauty and wisdom of learning how to make a marriage work together. In regards to communication, I understand how the effective ECHO method works, and how to resolve conflicts. I understand accountability. I understand the effects of prayer and worship. I understand that it is not just about ME, but about a goal of accomplishing a vision that we had when we met”.

My husband Travis and I decided after 6 months of dating that we would enroll in the Fall 2007 semester of “With this Ring” at Victory World Church. We knew that we were on a path toward marriage but neither one of us knew what a Godly marriage looked like or what we would really be getting into. Therefore we decided that even before we were engaged that we should be sure we knew God’s heart on marriage and that we would be the right spouse for each other before involving our families in wedding planning process.

Kunle and Louise Fadina were our facilitators and our lives were never the same since that first day of class. Kunle and Louise were so humble and transparent it helped the entire group feel more comfortable opening up and doing the same. While discussing topics such as children, finances, intimacy, conflict and communication, Travis and I found ourselves in our fair share of conflict. But with the mentoring that Kunle and Louise provide both inside and outside the class coupled with the support of the entire group we were able to learn God’s heart on these issues and grow from them as a result. We learned that marriage is not always going to be easy nor without its share of ups and downs but with the right tools and understanding God’s heart for marriage we can confidently say that divorce is not an option. We were engaged in February the following year and Kunle and Louise were our mentors and provided us the counsel and accountability as we entered in that next phase of our relationship. Since the class, they have been our constant support even after we were married in

March 2009 and with us as we expect our first child in a few months. We remain close and connected with the entire “With this Ring” group as many have been married and are having children as well.

As facilitators their lessons on marriage was a mirror reflection of their own lives which was such an awesome and inspiring testimony. Because of the example they have shown we decided to follow in their footsteps and share what we have learned with other couples. We are now a part of the Victory World Church Family ministry and we co-facilitated “Courtship Essentials” in the spring of 2009 and "With this Ring" in the fall of that same year. The decision to take "With this Ring," was a defining point in our lives and it’s impacted us individually, as a couple, and helped us discover our Purpose!
